Join In These Times in New York City on August 25, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. for a special fundraiser supporting independent journalism and the fight to protect free speech.
The evening will feature bestselling author and In These Times cover artist Molly Crabapple, who will discuss her work and the current state of politics, art, artificial intelligence and more. The event is designed to give supporters the opportunity to spend time with one of the magazine’s most important contributors in recent years.
Molly Crabapple’s work with In These Times is ongoing, and Interim Executive Director Ari Bloomekatz will share how he and Molly began working together nearly a decade ago, as well as their shared vision for the magazine's future.
Supporters who donate $1,000 or more, or purchase a fundraiser ticket at the $1,000 level or above for the New York City or Chicago event, will receive an exclusive signed Giclée print, measuring at least 11 by 17 inches, featuring Molly’s first wraparound cover as In These Times’ Artist-at-Large. Only a limited number of prints are available.
The evening will also feature Maximillian Alvarez, editor-in-chief of The Real News Network, and Micah Uetricht, editor of Jacobin. Bestselling author and historian Rick Perlstein will join the conversation to speak with supporters about his forthcoming books and how he is thinking about the history of fascism today.
This gathering will center the importance of sustaining independent media at a moment of growing political pressure and increasing threats to a free press.
It will be a special evening you will not want to miss.
